Interior Design Projects
- The Lucky Bar -
This project was to design a craft beer distillery and bar with a craft beer tasting station and restaurant inspired by and designed for a well-known, proudly South African brand. I chose the brand Lucky Star for this project, a brand well known in SA for canned goods, including pilchards. The brand is synonymous with the iconic yellow star and red and yellow striped can. This craft beer bar is inspired by the brand's colour palette, product packaging and fishy theme.
Throughout the design you can see elements that represent the brand, including the red, yellow and blue colour palette, the iconic red and yellow striped pattern and the iconic yellow star. The bar is designed with the inspiration of turning the Lucky star brand identity into a classic vintage-style pub, by adopting certain design elements that you would see in old English-style pubs today, with a hint of grunge and nautical tones
The space is equipped with outdoor and indoor seating, a distillery viewing and craft beer tasting space, a bar with seating, booth-style seating along the wall, a pool table area and a reception and waiting space.
- Dreams Day Spa and Salon -
3rd year design project redesigning Dreams Day Spa and Salon in Durban. The aim of this project was to design a luxurious and comfortable spa experience without a luxurious budget while still designing something sustainable and on brand. With terrazzo tiling, dark wooden panelling and forest canvas wall features and brass detailing on furniture and doors, this design is classy and screams high quality while still using low-cost materials and providing affordable services so that the spa is inclusive to all.
This space features:
*A reception/entrance room equipped with pedicure and manicure stations.
*A single and couple massage therapy room equipped with ample storage and comfortable, high-quality massage beds.
*A lash tech and waxing room with a comfortable bed and high-quality equipment.
*A hydrotherapy room equipped with a jacuzzi bath and a large rain shower for ambience and relaxation.
- Whim Design Studios Office -
This project brief instructed us to design an office space for our personal brand as if it were an interior design firm. In the very early stages of Whim Design Studios' branding, my brand opted for a yellow and pink colour palette, which can be seen throughout this design. A warm and cosy office space was designed with playful furniture and textured materials to provide the space with a unique and whimsical atmosphere. The brands' iconic wildflower theme can also be seen hinted in the space in cutout wall features and wall decor.
This space comes equipped with:
*A reception/entrance area with seating and butterfly pendant lights
*A kitchen and staff break room
*A collaboration area for employees to work together on projects
*A conference room
*A private office area with desk partitions
*And custom designed furniture pieces
