About The Designer

My name is Shannon Aitken, and I am the creator of Whim Design Studios!

I created this brand because I have always had a passion for creating design and art inspired by the whimsical side of life. In all of my projects, I strive to push the boundaries and challenge the norm, prioritising imagination, innovation and unique design. Like the wildflower, my work and soul cannot be confined to the planting pot of the world, and my creativity blooms and thrives in the untamed fields of interior design, illustration, graphic design and marketing. The concept of this wild nature often serves as inspiration for my work and drives my passion for creating.

As a student currently studying interior design at Vega Durban, I have taken up many more projects in my areas of interest. I held the position of marketing manager and hostess at Kingston Beach Club, where I managed the company's social media and directed videography projects, planned events and personally designed and decorated the venue for themed functions. Now I am currently working part-time as a graphic designer and videographer for Blue Flamingo's social media platforms.
